Astral Chain Gets Emotional Trailer and Release Date on Switch

During Nintendo’s E3 2019 presentation, the company revealed the release date for the PlatinumGames developed action game Astral Chain, coming to Nintendo Switch on August 30, 2019.

The trailer shows new gameplay and exploration along with giving a story overview where the characters fight towards a goal of saving the world. The enemies in the game are huge and tower over the buildings. It seems that the cast is searching for a comrade of theirs who is lost. Yes, it seems that this will be an emotional adventure for players. The game also shows off its English voice over dialog and gives shows off some of the antagonists that players will meet throughout the narrative.

Astral Chain is directed by Takahisa Taura, who also worked as a lead game designer for NieR: Automata. Additionally, Bayonetta series creator Hideki Kamiya is also providing assistance to the project along with character designs from manga artist Masakazu Katsura.

PlatinumGames is no stranger to supporting Nintendo hardware, the developer was also behind the action title Wonderful 101, which ran at 60 FPS on the Nintendo Wii U. While the system wasn’t the largest success, the game was actually one that I enjoyed very much.
