Dangen Entertainment released a new trailer for the LABS Works developed retro adventure Astalon: Tears of The Earth, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2019.
Utilizing the retro 8-bit graphical style, Astalon: Tears of The Earth follows three explorers who are wandering through a post-apocalyptic desert to find a way to save the people of their village. Evidentally, there just so happens to be a pretty suspicious tower coming up from the depths of the Earth that might hold some answers.
The game mimics what fans of retro action-platformer would easily recognize, but also has its own unique features. Each character has unique skills to use while fighting through the hordes of enemies in the tower. Furthermore, players are able to collect items and explore new ways to get through the tower by changing the rules and embracing death, which allows characters to be strengthened. Additionally, the game features puzzles in the tower that will open new routes to explore.
The publisher released a new gameplay trailer introducing the cast and showing off some of the stage design of the game. As you’d expect, it looks similar to an NES game, but that’s not a bad thing.
