Chibi F2P Adventure ‘Assassin’s Creed Rebellion’ Gets Mobile Release Date

Ubisoft revealed that their chibi art adventure title Assassin’s Creed Rebellion will launch for iOS and Android devices on November 21, pre-registration open now.

Developed by Behaviour Interactive, the studio behind Dead by DeadlightAssassin’s Creed Rebellion, presents a different Assassin’s Creed experience that what seasoned fans may be used to. Set in Spain during the height of the Inquisition, players will be able to once again join a Brotherhood of assassins and by building a team of up to 40 assassin characters.

Players will partake in missions that involve selecting three assassins and use them to infiltrate strongholds and put fight against the Templars. Many of the assassins will be returning as playable characters with 20 being created just for the game.

Assassin’s Creed Rebellion features a chibi art style that may throw some fans of the series off due to the games more mature imagery. However, the sim like nature of building strongholds and leveling up groups of characters seems like a good fit for mobile devices.

Players who pre-register the free-2-play game will receive an in-game weapon from Assassin’s Odyssey and an exclusive character.

Author’s take: This game seems cute, but has a lot to prove to fans of the series. It would need to show that it uses the Assassin Creed’s IP correctly and just in name only to the point where it throws away all of the systems that fans like about the game. I’ll probably give the game a try, but mobile games have never really been my thing.
