New Assassin’s Creed Mirage Developer Video Emphasizes Ezio Trilogy-Style Approach; Nostalgic Visual Filter Announced
Ubisoft has shared a new trailer for the upcoming stealth action-adventure Assassin’s Creed Mirage, featuring creative director Stephane Boudon, artistic director Jean-Luc Sala, senior game designer Marco Maresca, and narrative director Sarah Beaulieu.
The staff discusses their narrative and gameplay design with this entry, highlighting how it’s really taking the series back to its origins in several ways, including implementing a nostalgic visual filter comprising a desaturated blue-gray color palette from the first game in the franchise.
Moreover, the team’s approach this time around is heavily inspired by the popular Ezio trilogy, with an emphasis on verticality, flow, and momentum.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage brings the series back to its roots, where players will experience a more linear and story-focused adventure. The game is set in ninth-century Baghdad, where players will follow Basim Ibn Ishaq, a thief who joins the cause’s fight against a growing threat. Further, the title occurs roughly 300 years before the events of the first Assassin’s Creed, which focused on the life of Altair.
