Assassin’s Creed Mirage Goes Gold; Release Date Pushed Up a Week
Ubisoft has announced that their upcoming stealth action-adventure game Assassin’s Creed Mirage has pushed its release date up by roughly a week. The title was initially planned for October 15, 2023, but it is now launching for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 5, 2023.
Additionally, the game has gone gold. This means that development is complete, and all we have to do now is wait for the release.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage brings the series back to its roots, where players will experience a more linear and story-focused adventure. The game is set in ninth-century Baghdad, where players will follow Basim Ibn Ishaq, a thief who joins the cause’s fight against a growing threat. Further, the title occurs roughly 300 years before the events of the first Assassin’s Creed, which focused on the life of Altair.
The staff previously discussed their narrative and gameplay design with this entry, highlighting how it’s really taking the series back to its origins in several ways, including implementing a nostalgic visual filter comprising a desaturated blue-gray color palette from the first game in the franchise.
Moreover, the team’s approach this time around is heavily inspired by the popular Ezio trilogy, with an emphasis on verticality, flow, and momentum.
