Aokana: Four Rhythms Developer ‘Sprite’ Regroups for New Project

After the Japanese release of Aokana: Four Rhythms Perfect Edition in November 2018, visual novel developer Sprite announced that they will be disbanding and that there are no plans for the team to regroup. Well, maybe they spoke too soon as the developer has announced on their official website that former members will be regrouping to produce a new title.

Also, they apologized in a statement to their fans for any inconvenience and anxiety they may have caused. Given the success of the western release of Aokana: Four Rhythms, I’m sure fans are just happy that they are coming back.

In the announcement, the team shared their plans for the next project being Aokana: Four Rhythms Extra2 Beyond the Samurai. This will be more side stories from the game and is a sequel to Aokana: Four Rhythms Extra, which has already been announced for a western release.

More news about the regrouping will be delivered in January 2020, so until then fans can rest knowing they’ll receive more visual novels from this unique team.

Aokana EXTRA1 follows the events after Aokana: Four Rhythms Across the Blue. However, the story focuses on Mashiro who is one of the most popular characters in the series.
