Anime-Inspired Rogue-Lite ‘Rogue Spirit’ Gets Free Demo Today on Steam

Developer Kids With Sticks and publisher 505 Games have announced their upcoming anime-inspired action-adventure game; Rogue Spirit is now available to be wishlisted on Steam. Those who wishlist the title on the digital storefront will be among the first to be informed on the demo releasing today and the Early Access release of the game in August of this year.

This title has players control the former Prince of Midra, who wields the ability to possess enemies and absorb their skills as he fights to rid the world of an oppressive evil force. With inspirations derived from classic anime tropes and Japanese and Southeast Asian cultures, the developers seek to meld modernized gameplay systems and their own take on feudal Japan in an aesthetically brilliant package.

20 unique characters with individualistic traits and 5 varied biomes containing 10 procedurally generated levels are what players can expect from the Early Access release.

Andrzej Koloska, the Co-Owner at Kids With Sticks, had this to say about Rogue Spirit:

“We are excited to work with such an experienced publisher. Thanks to 505 Games we were able to establish the Kids With Sticks initiative and focus all of our powers on developing Rogue Spirit. We hope to bring freshness to the rogue-like genre with an interesting core mechanic of possessing enemies and being able to absorb their skills.”

Rogue Spirit is releasing on Steam, with a demo releasing today.
