Animal Trail Girlish Square Brings Us Cute Magical Girl Idols with Animal Ears Next Week

Sekai Project announced the release date for Animal Trail Girlish Square. The cute kinetic visual novel about magical girl idols with kemonomimi (that is, animal ears) is developed by Whirlpool and will be available on PC via Steam on August 12, 2022.

Animal Trail Girlish Square tells the story of an idol otaku called Nakamori Taiga. He’s simply obsessed with this group called “Animal Trail ☆ Girlish Square” which have been performing in various shows in Akihabara. As new idols, they’re doing a lot of effort and aiming at a presentation at Japan’s most famous arena, the Budokan, but that dream still seems far away.

One night he’s going back home after work and finds the idols themselves practicing. However, something unexpected happened: a transformation sequence like those of magical girl anime. In these circumstances, he finds out they’re actually magical beings from another world that came to Earth in order to save their hometown gathering energy from humans.

Unfortunately, their little success so far has been hindering the progress of their objective. Taiga will join them as a producer and manager, making an effort so the group can thrive as idols and magical girls to save their home planet.

Animal Trail Girlish Square features illustrations by Shiromochi Sakura (The Witch’s Love Diary, Natsuiro Kokoro Log) and story by Oumiya Yuu (NEKO-NIN exHeart, Slobbish Dragon Princess). CGs and music tracks are available in the gallery and players can also save their favorite voice lines.
