Latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update Features the Return of Crazy Redd and a Slew of New Events

Those who have become bored with the tedium of Animal Crossing: New Horizons might not be bored for much longer as Nintendo has just released details on the latest update coming to the game on April 23.

The update will add new visitors, events, and features. A new traveling salesman, Leif, will begin randomly appearing on islands with his garden shop. The shop will feature different kinds of foliage and seeds that players can buy to decorate their island, including newly added shrubs. Fan-favorite conman Redd will be making a return to the series, this time as “Jolly Redd” instead of “Crazy Redd.” Redd will begin randomly appearing at the back of islands in his “Treasure Trawler,” selling art and unique furniture to players that may or may not be fake. Real art pieces bought from Redd can be donated to a brand new section of the museum that will display art and sculptures.

Though the recent Bunny Day event received a mixed reception from fans, many are hopeful for upcoming events, the first of which will begin on April 23. The Nature Day event will feature different Nook Miles challenges each day, focusing on nature-inspired goals such as planting trees and watering flowers. Nature Day will last until May 4.

The Nature Day event will cross over with the May Day Tour, an event that will last from May 1-7. During this time period, players will be gifted a “May Day Ticket” that will take them to a deserted island, unlike any other. A “special visitor who looks familiar” will also be on the island.

Towards the end of May, International Museum Day will put a particular focus on the different exhibits in Bather’s museum. From May 18-31, the museum will begin running a “stamp rally,” allowing players to earn stamps while exploring the museum with a special reward for those who collect all the stamps.

Finally, the entire month of June will be “Wedding Season.” During this time, players can visit Harvey’s island to meet Animal Crossing veterans Reese and Cyrus. In honor of their wedding anniversary, the player can help them take anniversary photos in exchange for wedding-themed items.
