The Ins and Outs of Animal Crossing: New Horizons Detailed in New Video
Nintendo launched their direct Livestream for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, coming to Nintendo Switch on March 20.
The video went into detail about everything players will be able to do after accepted the Deserted Island Getaway Package from no other than Tom Nook. Players will find themselves moving to a deserted island where they take on the role of a pioneer.
“The Animal Crossing games offer players a unique and relaxing escape from the stresses of everyday life, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons builds on that by letting players build their own island utopia from scratch,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “When Nintendo Switch owners pack their virtual bags and move into their new island home, they will experience more ways to customize their Animal Crossing life than ever before. Just like Nintendo Switch itself, the game lets you play the way you want to play.”
During gameplay, players will be able to utilize a DIY feature where they will use materials found on the island to craft a variety of things like tools and furniture. This also enables players to learn special skills. Additionally, players will be equipped with a NookPhone, which is full of applications and even a camera for in-game photos.
Players who are looking for more goal-oriented gameplay can take advantage of the Nook Mileage program. This is where you will hit milestones and receive in-game rewards, even tickets to visit distinct islands.
Online play is also enabled for up to eight players to live on the island at once. With one switch and one game, four Nintendo Account holders can play at once. With additional systems, each with a copy of the game, up to eight players can play on the same island at the same time using local wireless or online play. This online feature requires players to have an Online membership.
