Amnesia: The Bunker Delayed to Early June 2023; Free Steam Demo Later This Month

Frictional Games has announced that their upcoming survival horror adventure Amnesia: The Bunker has received a slight delay, now scheduled to release PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on June 6, 2023.

In case you missed it, check out our previous coverage of this title, comprising a new gameplay trailer.

Additionally, prospective purchasers can anticipate a demo launching for Steam on May 22, 2023.

This new game will differ from previous entries since this outing is set in a semi-open world, letting players choose their playstyle and explore at their leisure with few scripted events.

In addition, the sandbox environmental incorporation aims to significantly amplify tension, with a constantly looming threat making each moment-to-moment choice matter more than ever before—enhanced lighting and carefully designed sound effects aid in elevating the tone as well.

Further, player choice is emphasized by objects, threats, and resources changing across every playthrough, alongside tool handling and multiple solutions to intricate puzzles.

The main character is a French soldier armed with a revolver gun and a noisy dynamo flashlight as he walks across a poorly lit World War I bunker. And as if that weren’t enough, he fittingly suffers from amnesia while being hunted by some manner of otherworldly monstrosity.
