Amazon Prime is Eyeing a God of War Show

Deadline has come forward to announce that a live-action TV series based on God of War is currently in the works. Amazon Prime is said to be negotiating to make a live-action series based on the God of War property.

According to Nellie Andreeva, who broke the story, sources are saying that the creators and executive producers of The Expanse, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, as well as the producer and showrunner for The Wheel of Time, Rafe Judkins, will be working on the potential adaptation. Sony Pictures Television and Playstation Productions would naturally be involved, though reps for Sony and Amazon Studios did not comment on the news.

It’s currently unknown as to whether the series will cover the earlier action-heavy God of War games, or 2018’s slower and more personal God of War, which recently released on PC.

This news comes after numerous other Sony properties are said to be getting adaptations. Twisted Metal, starring Anthony Mackie, got a series order for Peacock, HBO is working on their Last of Us series, and a Ghost of Tsushima film is in development. Throw in Uncharted‘s recent success at the box office, and it makes sense that Playstation properties are hot for adaptations right now.
