Elden Pixels announced that their 16-Bit Adventure, Alwa’s Legacy, will launch on PC-via Steam and GOG on June 17 for $17.99, with a Nintendo Switch release planned for a later date.
Alwa’s Legacy is a sequel to Alwa’s Awakening and picks up after Zoe saved the land of Alwa. However, on her way back home she finds herself at the beginning of a new adventure where she will need to help the inhabitants of a mysterious land and save it again from a curse.
Using Zoe’s magic staff, players can navigate through Alwa and solve puzzles as they face off against enemies. The game features new items and character upgrades that allow players to customize Zoe to be an offensive, defensive, or explorative character. Magic can also be used as a way to get around the levels, which can also reveal secrets and new interesting characters.
The decision to go full time into game development to make a sequel to Alwa’s Awakening has been very satisfying. Alwa’s Legacy is the great game we’ve always wanted to make with its diverse skill tree, expansive level design and gorgeous 16-bit style graphics,” said Mikael Forslind, Game Designer for Elden Pixels. “We’ve put everything into making Alwa’s Legacy the best it can be. We can’t wait for the fans to get their hands on it after all their support.”
Alwa’s Legacy is a Metroidvania adventure that borrows 16-bit graphics and takes advantage of including realistic lighting systems and modern game design aesthetic.
