Alan Wake Remastered Officially Announced For PC and Consoles with Fall Release

Announced by Sam Lake, creative director of Remedy Entertainment, is Alan Wake Remastered, a highly anticipated release that has been teased from various retailer listings and other website leaks.

On The Sudden Stop, which was first an Alan Wake fansite back in 2012, Lake announced that the remaster is nearing completion, and there is a collaborative partnership with Epic Games. Additionally, while he doesn’t specify the exact consoles the title will appear on, he states Xbox, and PlayStation for the first time on both current and previous generations alongside PC.  So, it is likely to expect this title on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. No Switch version was alluded to.

The original Alan Wake was released on May 14, 2010, for Xbox 360 and then PC. This title is an absolute cult classic, and fans have been yearning for a re-release in some fashion for years.

In his post, Lake emphasizes the importance of this title on his creative life and how the team tried to preserve the experience provided by the original release. However, visuals have been notably updated with the player model of Alan Wake himself being upgraded. Some “choice next-generation” upgrades have been added, too, though the specifics of what these are have yet to be stated.

Alan Wake Remastered is releasing for PC and consoles later this Fall. No specific release window was provided.

More information on this soon-to-be-released title will be given soon. You can read the official announcement of Alan Wake Remastered here.
