Aksys Announces 2022 Game Lineup For Next Week’s Showcase; Plenty of Nintendo Switch Otome

Publisher Aksys Games has provided updates on which games will be discussed during their All Aksys event occurring next week. This stream was announced last month, with few details being stated.

The following games are confirmed to be highlighted:

• Blazing Strike – PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC – 2D fighter developed by RareBreed Makes Games, inspired by Capcom and SNK’s signature work. Boasts unique systems and mechanics with modern conveniences and additions.
• Variable Barricade – Nintendo Switch – Otome visual novel where the protagonist, Hibari, has to contend with various bachelors attempting to win her hand in marriage due to her eventual fortune inheritance.
• Lover Pretend – Nintendo Switch – Otome title focusing on protagonist Chiyuki, an aspiring University student doing part-time work. She has two dreams; becoming a scriptwriter and finding the father she never met.
• Paradigm Paradox – Nintendo Switch – Set in the year 25XX, humanity has been isolated in colonies. The protagonist, Yuuki Takanashi, is a student and completely bored. One night she decided to leave her dormitory and accidentally fell into the neighboring colony Vermin, who is actually the enemy. However, this dangerous situation might not be too bad as she discovers a secret power that leads her to become a hero.
• Kimi wa Yukima ni Koinegau [English name to be revealed] – Nintendo Switch – Taking place in the first year of the Kyoho era on land ruled by the eighth shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune. The story is set in the city of Edo, where monster attacks have become more frequent, and everyone is on edge. To help, the Tokugawa shogunate establishes the “Oniwaban” to fight back against the monsters and maintain order. This continues until year 11 of the Kyoho era, when a girl named Suzuno discovers a power where something terrible happens when she sees a “black thread.” The villagers drive her away, and she comes across non-human characters and maybe some romance.
• Piofiore: Episodio 1926 – Nintendo Switch – This title is a fandisc sequel to Piofiore: Fated Memories. It takes place after its good and true ends and the previous story from the male’s perspective. The Henri after-story is also included.

This upcoming All Aksys event will be taking place on February 17, 2022, at 10 AM PST/ 1 PM EST, viewable via their official Twitch channel.
