Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed Sells Over 600,000 Units Worldwide; Kati Route DLC Announced

Developer Acquire has announced that their cult-classic action title, Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed, has sold over 600,000 units worldwide. Further, accompanying this announcement, DLC has been confirmed to be in development to incorporate a route for Kati Raikkonen, the heroine in the title who has lacked a route since release. This is quite incredible, to be honest, since it has been roughly 8.5 years since the game initially launched.

The title is currently available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC via Steam. It has not been confirmed which platforms this DLC will be releasing for, but PlayStation 4 and PC are personally the only ones I’d bet on. No estimated release window has been provided either.

A remake of the first entry in this series, Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed, was recently released.

In Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed, players take advantage of the “Strip action RPG” systems where they can roam the streets of Akihabara circa 2011 and save the otakus. Players will join up with the Akiba Freed Fighters to make the streets safe a expose the plans of vampiric conspiracy.

Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed features Dual Audio, with English and Japanese available. During gameplay, players will make choices that can affect the narrative’s flow for a different ending. There are also collectibles around the city for players to spend even more time in the otaku district.

Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed is currently available on PlayStation 4.
