AI: The Somnium Files PS4 and Switch Retail Release Delayed Due to “Increased Demand”

Spike Chunsoft has announced that due to increased demand and manufacturing delays, the western PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch physical releases of AI: The Somnium Files will not be available for retail until September 24. This also includes the Special Agent Editions.

That said, the PC-via Steam release and digital releases for the PS4 and Switch versions will still launch as planned on September 17 in North America and September 19 in Europe. Via a press release, Spike Chunsoft mentioned that they “appreciate the community’s understanding and will continue to work hard to deliver the best products possible.”

AI: The Somnium Files tells the story of detective Kaname Date who is investigating a mysterious serial killer. Dante investigates these crime scenes by looking over the physical setting as well as peering into dreams to look for clues. One day, Dante arrives at a crime scene and recognizes a woman that he knows from somewhere. He then hears a noise from inside of a merry-go-round and finds a young girl with a bloody ice pick in her hand.
