AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative Gets June Release Date And New Story Trailer

Spike Chunsoft has announced the release date for AI: The Somnium Files – NirvanA Initiative. The adventure title which follows up Uchikoshi’s 2019 game will be available on Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC – via Steam – on June 24, 2022. Pre-orders for its Collector’s Edition are already open. Along with the date, the company has shared a new trailer which focuses on its story.

The first game, AI: The Somnium Files, followed the story of detective Date Kaname, who could use a technology called Psync to dive into others’ dreams. This way he could get more information on the bizarre cases he was investigating directly from suspects and potential witnesses. Along with him through this journey was a special eyeball called Aiba.

For NirvanA Initiative, however, the story should focus on two new special agents, Mizuki and Ryuki. Taking place in the future, the initial trigger for the plot is a body. Only half of it was found but six years after the event its other side suddenly appears as if it were new. Now it’ll be up to the two characters and their partners, Aiba and Tama, to figure out what’s going on. On the way, they’ll unveil a sinister plot known as Nirvana Initiative.
