AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative Shares New Information Via Weekly Famitsu

In the latest edition of Weekly Famitsu, new information pertaining to side content in AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative was unveiled. There were four pages in total, but the ones that warrant the most attention are pages three and four, which have profiles detailing some new characters, and a vast relationship chart sharing the connections everyone has. We will focus on page 4, which explains a new mechanic called a “Medamappe” (literal romaji translation – English localization will certainly differ).

NOTE: We will not be directly sharing Famitsu scans to avoid copyright issues.

In this mode, players can raise a Tamagotchi-esque pet in the form of Aiba. It will ask you questions from time to time, and you can play around with it in-game. Furthermore, the page also details a feature where players can exchange points for some outfits for both Aiba and Tama and also visit and interact with them in special rooms. From those rooms, you’ll be able to replay content you’ve previously cleared and exchange some sort of point currency for outfits. The pages and screenshots don’t specify much further than that, only saying that this is all “bonus content” that players can enjoy on top of the main story.

AI The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative

AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative shows an event where the right half of a corpse was discovered, but the left half was never found until six years later. However, the body has shown no signs of decay, as though it’s only a day old. New special agent Mizuki and her AI partner Aiba are tasked to solve the Half Body serial killings. Kotaro Uchikoshi is confirmed to be the Scenario Writer. Hardcore fans can pre-order the game’s Collector’s Edition, which has a bunch of goodies.
