AI: The Somnium Files’ Idol ‘A-Set’ Travels Into the World of Dreams to Find New Gameplay Details
Spike Chunsoft released a new video by their idol Tesa, also known as A-Set, from their upcoming visual novel adventure AI: The Somnium Files, coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on July 25.
The video has Tesa explain the Psync machine that allows users to go into people’s dreams. During the game, players will be able to use this system to enter a person’s dream who is of interest to the case being worked. During the Psync, players will need to look for clues by solving the mental locks that are blocking the way. Doing so will unlock deeper paths into the persons subconscious to find the truth.
Additionally, players will only have 6-minutes in Somnium to interact with the environment. However, players will be able to use a variety of items that will help out the investigation. The only drawback is that time is spent using items, so it’s up to the player to choose wisely.
AI: The Somnium Files tells the story of detective Kaname Date who is investigating a mysterious serial killer. Dante investigates these crime scenes by looking over the physical setting as well as peering into dreams to look for clues. One day, Dante arrives at a crime scene and recognizes a woman that he knows from somewhere. He then hears a noise from inside of a merry-go-round and finds a young girl with a bloody ice pick in her hand.
Directed by Kotaro Uchikoshi and with character designs by Yusuke Kozaki, this thrilling neo-noir detective adventure unfolds.
