Adventure JRPG ‘Fairy Tail’ Receives Slight Delay Due to COVID-19

Koei Tecmo announced that the Gust-developed RPG Fairy Tail, will receive a month delay moving the release date from June to July 30 in Europe and July 31 in North Americo on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The delay comes with a statement that reads:

Due to the ever-changing world disrupted by COVID-19, Koei Tecmo and Gust Studios are pushing back the release of Fairy Tail until July 31, 2020. The development team is working extremely hard through an unprecedented time to deliver the ultimate magical Japanese RPG experience to fans across the world and we appreciate everybody’s patience as we put the final touches on this thrilling adventure.

Fairy Tail will focus on Natsu and the Fairy Tail guild as they fight against a variety of enemies on the mission to become the best guild in Fiore. During battles, players can form parties of up to five mages, who can combine their power to unleash unprecedented magical attacks across a three-by-three battlefield grid.

Players will need to consider which magic is best suited for various situations strategically. Furthermore, players can utilize a special Magic Chain attack where each character launches magic followed by a finisher. The game features 16 playable characters who each have unique magical abilities.
