Actraiser Renaissance Receives Free Update With a New Mode That Plays “Closer to the Original”

Square Enix has released a new update for Actraiser Renaissance, available now on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

The free update has been released to provide players with an experience closer to the original, which limits some new actions such as backstepping. This is available through a new mode which has increased the difficulty of the Rafflasher boss fight found in Marahna Act 1 and the stage clear sequence has been adjusted.

Further, you can now change the angel’s outfit to fit your mood during cutscenes. One interesting inclusion was that the team has refined he must by Yuzo Koshiro so a few of the songs have also received some love.

Actraiser Renaissance features 2D platforming action with city-building simulation as players battle between good and evil. The game feature HD visuals and a story campaign that expand on the lore of the game. The goal is to help humanity overcome their flaws and to do that, you pretty much just have to fight a bunch of enemies.

We’ll keep you updated on any additional updates coming to Actraiser Renaissance.
