Action Brawler ‘Utawarerumono: ZAN’ Introduces Characters in New Trailer

NIS America released a new trailer for the Aquaplus developed action RPG Utawarerumono: ZAN, coming to PlayStation 4 on September 10.

The trailer is part two of the character trailer series where players can get a better idea of the action gameplay of this title. Characters shown are Nekone, Maroro, Atuy, and everyone’s favorite twins Uruuru & Saraana. Each character is playable and has their own unique attack patterns and abilities.

The series is typically known for its lengthy visual novel scenes where players receive in-depth knowledge of the characters and the situation at hand, but this title aims to change things up a bit and provide a new Utawarerumono experience.

Utawarerumono: ZAN tells the story of Haku, a man who has lost his memories, as a conflict consumes him. Players will take control of 12 heroes over the course of the game and fight against the approaching threat using their unique skills and abilities to engage them. The game will feature Japanese audio with English subtitles as well as online multiplayer for up to 4 players to team up and fight off enemies. Additionally, the game contains animated cutscenes as the story unfolds along with the usual visual novel style interactions.
