Comic Book Action-Adventure ‘Liberated’ Get Switch Release Date and New Trailer
Walkabout Games released a new trailer revealing the release date for the Atomic Games-developed adventure Liberated, coming to Nintendo Switch on June 2.
“Liberated has been a huge labor of love and collaborative effort between Walkabout, Atomic Wolf and L.inc,” said Piotr Gnyp, head of BizDev at Walkabout, the publisher of Liberated. “We hope that with Liberated we will give a second life to comic book and graphic novel genres, using technology to bring them into a new era of interactive storytelling.”
The short trailer doesn’t show very much gameplay, but the team did release almost 9-minutes of it earlier this year. There’s no mention of the PC release date, which is planned to come to Steam and GOG.
Liberated is set in the near-future, where the world seems to be powered by corporations, which has enabled new technology. Players will find themselves joining the fight against state-driven misinformation.
Given that a revolution is brewing based on this new environment of surveillance and weaponized personal data, the player must draw the line between revolution and terrorism. Gameplay features moments of fast thinking, stealth, and action as players make their way to obtain the truth.
