Action-Adventure ‘Black Skylands’ Coming to Early Access in June

TinyBuild announced that the Hungry Couch Games-developed open-world action-adventure Black Skylands will launch on PC-via Steam Early Access, Epic Games Store, and GOG.com on June 11, 2021.

This skypunk adventure has players explore a pixel art world with gameplay modes that range from top-down shooters to exploration. Black Skylands is said to draw inspiration from RPGs, farming simulators, sandboxes, and even bullet hell as the 15-person team works to create their dream project.

The narrative of Black Skylands takes place after Earth turned into thousands of islands floating in the air. The people of Aspya were at peace, but raiders invaded and messed everything up. Players assume the role of Eva in search of the Kain’s Falcom, a group of bandits who took her father’s life. Fueled by revenge, Eva must rebuild her ship and arm herself for the battle ahead.

Gameplay features both air and ground combat as players will need to take out enemies on all fronts. Customization is key here as players will add to their arsenal based on materials collection. The ship needs to be fortified as well, which will require some upgrades. Further, players can develop structures that will assist in earning materials.
