Developer and publisher npckc have announced that their point-and-click horror title, a pet shop after dark, will be releasing for PC via Steam in August 2022. Additionally, a free demo is available to download for all users, and the full game can now be wishlisted.
This spooky cute experience was initially released for a game jam (video game developer event). Still, this upcoming version will boast new content, such as extra puzzles and more story elements to unravel. Further, the currently available demo contains an exclusive story that will not be in the paid game, so it’s worth playing even if you intend to purchase it.
Throughout this interactive puzzler, players control a protagonist who has been employed at a quaint pet shop. Their responsibilities solely consist of watering the plants, feeding the pets, and staying the night. However, they are explicitly warned never to turn off the lights under any circumstances. Why? Well, the reasoning assuredly has to do with disturbing imagery hence the genre tag.
