A New Witcher Game is Currently in Development
CD Projekt Red took to their official website to announce that the next entry in the Witcher franchise is already in development.
The company says that this newest installment is set to begin “a new saga” for the franchise, though that’s about all we know about the upcoming title narrative-wise.
CD Projekt Red also says that they’ll be moving from REDengine to Unreal Engine 5 with this title, in what will serve as the beginning of a “multi-year strategic partnership” with Epic Games. This collaboration will cover not only licensing but the technical development of Unreal Engine 5 as well. We’ll keep you update on this upcoming Witcher game as further details are revealed/
Until then, check out our review of the most recent Witcher game, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. In our full written review, we said: “If it weren’t for the card games being a sort of niche or the fact that they can be frustratingly difficult at times, I would recommend this Switch title to everyone. This is a bit of a shame, given that this is the most impressed I’ve been with a title that goes beyond the core ideas of the series. But I will say, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is more than another addition to The Witcher series, it’s for anyone who is looking for a challenging and lasting experience, which is now delivered on Switch.”
