90s Inspired Point & Click Adventure ‘Unusual Findings’ Launches on Kickstarter with Trailer; PC Winter 2021 Release, Demo Now Available

Publisher Buka Entertainment and developer Epic Llama have revealed that their point & click adventure, Unusual Findings, is now available to support on Kickstarter. In this 90s inspired adventure boasting 80s retro style, players view the lives of three teenagers, Vinny, Nick, and Tony, as they investigate bizarre numbers occurring near their homes. During one seemingly typical night, however, the teenagers pick up the signal of an alien spaceship and eventually discover a multitude of other unconventional oddities in their town.

The tone and overall appeal are inspired by classic adventure films, most notably The Goonies, Monster Squad, and The Lost Boys. Additionally, the gameplay loop is reminiscent of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango. Players will have to solve numerous puzzles and test their resolve by making arduous choices that determine the course of the narrative and the relationships within the cast.

In addition to the expected classic puzzle design where items must be combined to prevail against certain obstacles, an assist mode will reveal all interactable spots so players won’t have to randomly click everywhere on the screen to identify potential points of intended interest. The title will also be fully voiced, and the soundtrack will be “authentically retro synthwave.”
