14-Minute Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet Trailer Reveals Cooking, Craftable TMs, Girafarig Evolution & More

Nintendo, Game Freak, and The Pokémon Company have published an extensive new 14-minute trailer for the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet.

Pokémon can pick up items from a distance if summoned onto the field, and players can set waypoints on the map for easier tracking. TMs are now craftable, using materials found throughout the world when battling Pokémon. Tera Blast is a new battle move that alters its properties depending on one’s Tera Type.

Trainer customization has returned with various purchasable outfits. Further, players can use the camera feature to take selfies of themselves in their new duds. Picnics are a new feature where one can clean their Pokémon, play with them, and cook. Cooking can grant several effects, such as making Pokémon easier to catch or enhancing experience point gain.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are releasing for Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are the titles debuting the franchise’s ninth generation alongside a brand new locale, the Paldea region. Taking inspiration from the last console release, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players can look forward to exploring an ambitious open world where there is no set story order for gym progression. Here’s hoping these efforts manage to stick their long-desired landing.
