13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim has players assume the role of 13 different characters, who each play a part in the overarching narrative. Throughout the game, players are able to explore 2D environments and interact with other characters to trigger events. This will inevitably lead to a battle encounter where players can jump into mecha suits and strategically fight against enemy Kaijuu using the game’s real-time battle system.

The narrative is a significant focus for 13 Sentinels: Aegis RimPlayers will need to be engaged in the conversations as choices weight them, and accessing keywords to acquire additional information is necessary. Players will be able to jump between characters during the adventure segments as they gather information. However, if things go too wrong, the day will rewind to make the correct choices.
