Atlus has announced a Switch release for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. The Vanillaware-developed game was originally released only on PS4 and got a great reception due to its interesting sci-fi plot twists. Now it’ll also be available for Nintendo Switch on April 12, 2022. The Japanese release is actually set for April 14, 2022, meaning it’ll be available in the west a little earlier.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim tells the story of a group of 13 young characters, each of which eventually has to use a special robot called Sentinel to fight hordes of mechanical kaiju. As for the circumstances, it’s best to play the game to find out as it’s filled with way too many plot twists. And the best part of it all is getting lost in figuring out what’s actually going on.
As for the gameplay, 13 Sentinels is divided into two sides. One of them is a text adventure in which you can see the plot for each character and unfold it in a non-linear fashion. The other is the mecha fights which mix RPG elements with Real-Time Strategy. As you adapt the builds of your robots, you’ll have to face hordes of enemies using a variety of weapons. Each Sentinel is divided into four classes, each with their own advantages.
